Trails That Teach: Learn as You Explore
Installed in Fall 2018, a collection of vibrant, thoughtfully placed signs now guide visitors through the MK Nature Center—inviting curiosity at every turn. From plant life to animal tracks, these interpretive displays help tell the story of Idaho’s ecosystems in ways that are easy to understand and hard to forget.
With 12 educational signs, two welcoming wayfinding signs, and even a life-size sturgeon bench to see how you “measure up,” the trail experience has been transformed into a walking field guide. Whether you're a first-time visitor or a regular on the path, there’s always something new to learn just around the bend.
This project came to life through months of collaboration between Nature Center staff, volunteers, and community partners—with leadership and support from the Friends of the MK Nature Center. Generous funding from the Idaho Women’s Charitable Foundation helped make this vision a reality.
