In May 2019, a new kind of perch appeared at the MK Nature Center—a life-size eagle’s nest designed for exploration, discovery, and a fresh perspective on the natural world.

Crafted to reflect the true size and structure of a bald eagle’s nest, this interactive exhibit lets visitors step into the world of one of Idaho’s most iconic raptors. From the woven sticks to the elevated view, guests of all ages can get a sense of the scale, strength, and care involved in building a nest that can last a lifetime.

Bald eagle nests are the largest in North America, often reused and expanded year after year. This hands-on experience offers a rare chance to connect with the life of these incredible birds—and to imagine what it’s like to grow up high in the treetops.
