Nature in Glass: The Wildlife Mosaic
Look closely—do you recognize some familiar faces? Sculpin, dragonflies, trout, and mink are just a few of the wild residents featured in the stunning mosaic wall at the MK Nature Center. Each creature portrayed lives in or near Idaho’s rivers, including the stream that flows through the heart of the Nature Center.
Created by Boise artist Anna Webb, the mosaic is a tribute to the rich biodiversity found in our local waterways. Webb began by studying detailed photos of native species before translating them into a vibrant sketch. Piece by piece, she crafted the design in her studio using hand-cut colored glass, then carefully installed it on-site for all to enjoy.
The mosaic adds a unique artistic layer to the visitor experience—connecting science and creativity in a way that invites closer observation.
