Friendship Pond: A Place to Reflect and Reconnect

Tucked beside Friendship Corner on the north side of MK Nature Center, Friendship Pond has been given new life. What was once a tired, overgrown space has been thoughtfully restored into a welcoming water feature surrounded by Idaho native plants and natural rock edges.

In 2025, the Friends of MK Nature Center Board funded the restoration, bringing the pond back into shape for visitors, programs, and wildlife alike. Native plantings now line the edges, natural rocks frame the water, and the space has quickly become a quiet, inviting spot to pause and observe nature up close.

Friendship Pond reflects the ongoing commitment of the Friends of MK Nature Center to maintain and improve this special place for the Boise community. Whether you're visiting for a program or simply passing by, the pond offers a small but meaningful reminder of what thoughtful care and community support can create.

Restore. Reflect. Reconnect.

  • A Living Habitat – Restored with Idaho native plants and natural rock edges, the pond now supports birds, insects, and wildlife year round.

  • Community Investment – Made possible by the Friends of MK Nature Center Board, proving that local support creates lasting natural beauty.

  • Nature at Your Doorstep – A peaceful, accessible space where every visit offers a new moment of connection with Idaho's wild places.

Friendship Pond invites visitors to slow down, look closely, and rediscover the quiet beauty of nature — where water reflects the sky, wildlife finds refuge, and every ripple tells the story of a community that cares.
