The Educational Kiosk: Learning at Every Turn
Set at the crossroads of the MK Nature Center’s main trails, the educational kiosk invites visitors to pause, engage, and discover something new with every visit. Funded in part by individual donors and generous grants from the MK Foundation and the Laura Moore Cunningham Foundation, the kiosk came to life with project support from Idaho Fish and Game and material donations from Boise Cascade. Construction was completed in the summer of 2022.
The kiosk’s front-facing window offers a rotating display of seasonal topics—highlighting wildlife activity, environmental changes, and educational themes relevant to the time of year. On the other side, a built-in storage space houses supplies used by staff and volunteers for outdoor lessons and programs.
Its thoughtful design includes a broad overhang that shelters visitors and educators alike from the elements—making it a reliable stop in any season.
Stop. Learn. Keep Going.
